Symbolically, July is the month that signifies summer and all of its radiant glory. This wonderful summer month is dedicated to the ruby, otherwise known as the king of precious gemstones.  Famous for its deep and rich red color, rubies have dominated the luxury market for centuries for its inherent natural beauty. Throughout history, rubies have been at the forefront of accessories for kings, queens, and upper class due to its rarity and prestige.

Today, rubies symbolize passion,  love, and marriage;  making this the perfect love stone. Rubies have been known to encourage the removal of negative energy and promoting  positive thoughts and health. Rubies have been known to be mined in many places throughout the world like Burma, Cambodia, Brazil, Thailand, India, Japan, Australia, Pakistan, Afghanistan and United States. The brightest rubies found can be linked to the country of Burma, to which the unique stone is famous for. The red color is caused by the levels of the element Chromium, and determined most valuable when the stone is bright and clear. The highest clarity grades are known as eye-clean, because the inclusions cannot be seen to the naked eye. Clear Rubies with the brightest shade of red are called blood-red, or pigeon blood and commands a large premium.
